Vanish Whisper Tunnel

Push-to-talk dictation, local-only.

Powered by a local copy of whisper.cpp. No cloud, no audio leaves your machine.

Features
  1. 01Push to talk — Ctrl+Y in chat to start, Ctrl+Y again to stop. Transcript drops into the composer.
  2. 02Local-only transcription — model is loaded into a resident process and re-used; second-and-later runs feel instant.
  3. 03Mic icon overlay fades in while recording or while the model is loading.
  4. 04Notification fallback — transcript shows up in a notification if you've switched away from Chat.
  5. 05Controls modal (Ctrl+Shift+Y) — download a model, point Vanish at your whisper.cpp binary, load/unload to free RAM.

Setup

A bit more involved — needs a working whisper.cpp install, the sox audio utility, and a model file. The controls modal walks you through it.
